CHRISTMAS 2022 @ geelong town hall

DAP transformed the exterior of Geelong town Hall into a canvas for the Xmas period of 2022. The audiovisual piece expressed the rich diversity of multiculturalism in the area, emphasizing community and celebration over commercial Xmas cliches. Our bespoke 3D projection mapping techniques enhanced the architectural features in organic ways, wrapping and unwrapping each scene like a Xmas gift.

A World Science Festival commission. A 7 meter high face sculpture fabricated from lightweight aluminum. The installation is a giant storytelling device that is interactive for the public, who can capture and project their own face onto the sculpture and then animate its 3D form, along with sound triggers.

The work explores the space between narcissism and empathy and relationship between man and machine, breaking down bias and prejudice and building community.

A 30 meter cluster of lightweight self supporting screens that can be interchanged, repositioned and then projection mapped to suit any outdoor or indoor space, creating portals to other worlds.

The original artwork, Ripple, works in conjunction with an interactive touchscreen console that allows the audience to ripple the image, alter the content and integrate their own image into the narrative chapters.

The work was originally commissioned by Brisbane City Council and focuses conceptually on the changing states of water as a metaphor for human emotion, with the intention to connect us to nature.
